The Trail of Serre-Ponçon

Saturday, September 16 in solo! It takes place on the second half of the Grand Trail, on 74 km AND 5200m D+/-, starting from Espinasses, halfway along the Grand Trail. Here you are “under the lake”, downstream from the dam, in the villages that served as a base for its construction in the late 1950s. The departure is in the heart of the village of Espinasses, and you start with a vertical kilometer with the Mont Colombis at the beginning, then the long descent towards Chorges with the ecrins in mirror in the background of the landscape, then the sumptuous ascent towards the peak of Piolit, to go down towards the Col de Chorges, and to leave towards the Col de la Coupa, then to face the infernal Mont Guillaume by its wildest side. Finally, a descent to Embrun and the joy of the arrival at the water’s edge!
